Muchos somos
De tantos hombres que soy, que somos,
no puedo encontrar a ninguno:
se me pierden bajo la ropa,
se fueron a otra ciudad.

Todos los libros que leo
celebran héroes refulgentes
siempre seguros de sí mismos:
me muero de envidia por ellos,
en los filmes de vientos y balas
me quedo envidiando al jinete,
me quedo admirando al caballo.
Pero cuando pido al intrépido
me sale el viejo perezoso,
y así yo no sé quién soy,
no sé cuántos soy o seremos.
Me gustaría tocar un timbre
y sacar el mí verdadero
porque si yo me necesito
no debo desaparecerme.
Mientras escribo estoy ausente
y cuando vuelvo ya he partido:
voy a ver si a las otras gentes
les pasa lo que a mí me pasa,
si son tantos como soy yo,
si se parecen a sí mismos
y cuando lo haya averiguado
voy a aprender tan bien las cosas
que para explicar mis problemas
les hablaré de geografía.

Estoy contigo; luego de largos años de vagar

Otra vez, he regresado a ti.

¿Debería contarte todo lo que he visto, experimentado, bebido en mi interior?

¿O no quieres oír nada acerca de todo el ruido de la vida y el mundo?

Pero una cosa debes saber, una cosa he aprendido, que hay que vivir esta vida.

Esta vida es el camino, el más buscado, el camino hacia lo incomprensible, que llamamos divino.

No hay otro camino.

Todos los caminos son senderos falsos.

Yo hallé el camino correcto, me condujo hacia ti, a mi alma.

Regreso, moderado y purificado.

Entonces yo estaba totalmente absorto en el espíritu de los tiempos y pensaba de forma diferente que el alma humana.

Pensaba y hablaba mucho acerca del alma; sabía muchas palabras eruditas acerca del alma; la juzgaba y hacía de ella un objeto científico.

No consideré que el alma no pueda ser objeto de mi juicio y conocimiento.

Mucho más son mi juicio y mi conocimiento el objeto de mi alma.

Por lo tanto el espíritu de las profundidades me presionaba para que hablara a mi alma, para que la llamara como un ser vivo e independiente cuyo redescubrimiento significa la buena fortuna para mí. Me había perdido de mi alma, durante muchos años.

El espíritu de las profundidades ve el alma como un ser independiente, vivo, y con ello contradice al espíritu de los tiempos, para quien el alma es algo dependiente de la persona, que se deja ordenar y juzgar, es decir, algo cuyo alcance podemos captar.

Ante el espíritu de las profundidades, este pensamiento es presunción y arrogancia. Por lo tanto, el gozo de mi redescubrimiento fue humilde…

Sin el alma, no hay forma de salir de este tiempo.

Y cuando tenga que explicar el concepto de individuación de acuerdo a Jung voy a incluir la canción Lateralus de Tool:

And so it is that I find myself early one Monday morning, in an antiseptic room in one of London’s more expensive hotels, with the Canadian superstar holding court on the benefits of a form of treatment she is currently undergoing, known as Shadow Therapy. Apparently, Carl Jung first coined the phrase. She endeavours to explain.

“Basically, it’s a process to help locate the different parts of one’s self – all parts, both good and bad, light, shadow and dark – to help create a whole. And that, for want of a better word, is my goal. To become whole. It doesn’t matter whether that means whole in my anger or my rage or my greed or my generosity or any other polarity. The aim, simply, is to be whole and be OK with that.” She stops talking, and I am grateful. “Does that make sense?” she wonders.

Y lo que sugiere Gabriel apunta hacia la estrecha relación entre lo interno y lo externo: sobre cómo los eventos internos afectan el ambiente externo o lo que Jung llamaba la dimensión psicoide. Y es por medio de esa dimensión arquetipal que todos estamos conectados.
